Lazarides Gallery Group boasts an impressive heritage of off-site art spectaculars. Following 2010's Hell's Half Acre triumph, this year's show at The Old Vic Tunnels takes inspiration from the ancient Greek legend of The Minotaur. Steve Lazarides has commissioned artists from his international stable to each create their own interpretation of the classical myth within a stunning ‘Labyrinth’ installation.
‘The Minotaur’ show will be open for three weeks, from the 10th to the 25th of October . Guests will have the option of either witnessing the exhibition itself, or dining too in the accompanying 120-cover restaurant with the option of a mid or early-evening sitting. The ticket entrance fee is £5 and complimentary to under 16s. The exhibition ticket also gives you access to you our late night bar.
A formidable selection of international artists, representing thoroughly diverse artistic backgrounds and agendas, will present their own perceptions of the Minotaur myth. The work on show will reflect the modern resonance of this immortal fable. Ambitious installations, giant frescos, interactive exhibits and unique renditions will combine in one incomparable art exhibition. Steve Lazarides is credited with a revival in visually powerful art capable of tantalising and sometimes assaulting the senses of the viewer. Combined with a gastronomic experience provided by some of the world’s most intriguing chefs, The Minotaur exhibition will provide a feast for the mind, body and soul - an unforgettable cultural adventure in the heart of London.
